Join us for Herstory in Focus 2020
Herstory in Focus is the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre’s 5th annual gala, aiming to raise support and awareness for the work of DEWC and celebrating the strength and resilience of the women we serve.

We are now facing unprecedented times.
Due to COVID-19, Herstory in Focus 2020 will be an online event. This evening will include incredible speakers, performers, stories, and as the highlight of the night, women of the community performing in a fashion show, expressing their style and inner power. The event will also include an online silent auction, which will be opened for bids a week before the event.
Our fundraising goal this year is $50,000, which will directly support our meal program and drop-in centre, which has continued to support up to 500 women daily throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
We hope to see you (from a distance) on November 26, 2020 as we honour and celebrate the many herstories of strength and resilience in our community.

Support for Herstory gives a platform for the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre to multiply impact for the women we serve, invigorate and encourage supporters, and draw attention to the necessity of DEWC as safe space and sanctuary in addressing systemic violence and poverty affecting women of the Downtown Eastside.

Please note: This is an online event. Event link and password will be distributed by email the week of the event. The Downtown Eastside Women's Centre cannot issue tax receipts for event fees or admission. Any donations made during the event as well as any successful bid on auction items, less the fair market value, will receive a charitable tax receipt as per CRA guidelines.
